PARTY OF ABOUT 100 A “publicity contingent” of about 100 will follow the Royal couple in their tour of New Zealand. Journalists, photographers and radio commentators from New Zealand will swell the already large number coming from overseas. Representatives of newspapers and radio stations in the areas visited by the Royal party will add to the party to give increased local coverjournalists on the tour will be Messrs Louis Nickoils (Exchange Telegraph), R. Gomer Jones (Reuters), A. Brittenden (“News Chronicle”). R. W. Cooper (“The Times”), Frank Harvey (“Daily Telegraph”), Mrs M. Hewart (“Evening Standard”), Mrs Joan Reeder (“Daily Mirror”), Miss Gwen Robyns (“Evening News’), Mrs Eileen Travis (“Daily Mail”), and Messrs Graham Stanford (“News of the World”), and Bernard Wicksteed (’“Daily Express”). Other overseas representatives include Messrs N. Adams and H. D. Brass (Australian morning and evening papers, respectively), F. C. Flowers (“Herald,” Melbourne), Bruce Grant (“Age,” Melbourne, and “Morning Herald,” Sydney), C. D. Madden (“Sun,” Sydney), Miss A. Matheson (Australian Consolidated Press), Mr F. Nossal and Miss Elizabeth Riddell (Associated Newspapers, Sydney), and Mr R. F. MacMillan (“Time” Magazine, United States).

Photographers from abroad will include Messrs J. E. Barker (“The Times”), J. Esten (Odham’s Press, London), R. Berg (Australian Consolidated Press). L. H. Beurteaux (“Herald,” Melbourne), N. Herfort (Associated Newspapers, Sydney), G. Short (“Age,” Melbourne, and “Morning Herald.” Sydney), N. B. Stuckey (“Sun,” Sydney), C. Thompson (Australian Consolidated Press), and E. Elisofon (“Time” Magazine). Film coverage will be provided by Nation Film Unit men, who will also act for J. Arthur Rank Films. Ltd., and by New Zealand cine-photographers, who also represent overseas interests. The New Zealand Broadcasting Service will have a permanent group for the full tour, together with area commentators. Other broadcasting people on the tour will be seVen representatives of the B.B.C.—Miss Audrey Russell and Messrs Godfrey Talbot, Wynford Vaughan Thomas, Douglas Fleming, S. Gore, P. F. G. Gallagher, and J. H. Lancaster —and two from the A.B.C.—Messrs P. MacGregor and T. Duckmanton.

Mr C. H. Williams, assistant-director of publicity, Department of Tourist and Publicity will travel with the party as press and public relations officer.
