ROYAL TOUR OF N.Z.
MEMBERS OF ENTOURAGE NEW LIST ISSUED An additional list of officials to follow the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on their tour of New Zealand has been issued. The party will include:— Chief Inspector T. J. Clark (the Queen’s police officer), Inspector P. Kelley (the Duke’s police officer), Miss Helen Gardiner, C.8.E., M.V.O. (chief clerk, private secretary’s office), Mr L. Treby, B.E.M. (clerk accountant), Miss Felicity Irvine, M.V.O. (clerk to the acting-private secretary), Miss Thomas (clerk to the Duke’s private secretary), Miss L. Hocking (clerk to the press secretary), and Miss O. M. Short (clerk to the ladies-in-wait-ing).
Personal servants will include Miss M. Macdonald, M.V.0., and Miss E. MacGregor (first and second dressers to the Queen respectively), Miss P. Driscoll (the Queen's sewing maid), Miss F. Bramford (Lady Pamela Mountbatten’s maid). Miss E. Holland (Lady Alice Egerton’s maid), Mr J. MacDonald (the Duke’s valet), Mr E. Bennett (the Queen’s page), Mr C. Oulton (sergeant footman), Messrs J. E. Walton, R. M. White, and J. E. Taylor (footmen), and Mr J. H. Joerin (the Queen’s hairdresser).
New Zealand Government officials in attendance will include Mr A. G. Harper and Mr C. A. Furlong (Director and Assistant-Director of the tour), Mr W. G. Taylor (motor transport officer), Major N. R. Ingle (movements officer), Mr J. Te H. Grace (Maori liaison officer and organiser of the Maori reception), Mr P. J. O’Dea (administrative officer). Mr W. L. Middlemass (accommodation officer), Miss B. N. Manning (secretary to the tour director). Miss W. M. Tirikatene (secretary to the assistant tour director), Mis s P. A. Moore (shorthand-typist), Mr D. C. Lonergan (chief messenger), and Messrs H. J. Stevenson and H. Rump (waiters). Also attached for the tour will be Mr H. C. Hildreth (communications officer). Mr E. S. Doak (assistant motor transport officer), and Flight Lieutenand B. W. T. Richards, M.B.E. (baggage officer).
