Remembrance Day was observed with appropriate services and prayers in Christchurch churches yesterday. At Knox Presbyterian Church and at the Durham Street Methodist Church prayers were offered and a period of silence observed, and at the Durham street dhurch the National Anthem was played. On Saturday evening a crowd of about 500 gathered in Cathedral square to hear a short commemoration service conducted by the Salvation Army.
