FIREWORKS BRING STUDENTS FINES

.LONDON, November 7. Hundreds cff students, hatless and wearing brightly-coloured woollen scarves, beseigea the Bow Street Magistrate’s Court. London, yesterday, as scores of their colleagues were fined or bound over for their parts in a rowdy fireworks battle in the West End. In all, 189 charges were dealt with. Police squads struggled to keep them in order, out as the arrested students filed inside the Court, more fireworks exploded and some of the sympathisers were' detained.

On Guy Fawkes night 110 arrests were made when London University students threw noisy fireworks at mounted police who tried to break ~up their boisterous demonstrations.
