TRANSPORT ALLIANCE OFFICERS

(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, October 6. Mr W. D. Thompson (Waikato) was re-elected president of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance at the annual conference, which ended in Invercargill today. Mr D. D. Merritt (Nelson) was elected vice-president. The following were elected to the council: Messrs J. B. Cullen (Ashburton), C. J. Wilkie (Hastings), A. A. Heenan (Woodlands), J. A. Anderson (Mercer), P. J. Smith (Wanganui), W. Newcomb (Gisborne), F. G. Sheed (Timaru), W. O. Tilsley (Morrinsville), J. x.I. Gairdner (Putaruru), J. T. Hogan (New Plymouth), W. L. Sirl (Whangarei), J. W. Greenhill (Greymouth), R. D. Chapman (Martinborough), and W. A. Habgood (Lincoln).
