Dilloh, president of the Canterbury Employers’ Association, commenting on an announcement by the Minister of Labour that the Government had amended the Economic Stabilisation Regulations to allow the Cotirt to fix a date nb earlier than September 15, 1953, for the commencement bf a general wage order. Mr Dillon said that employers fully agreed With the Minister When he said there was much objection to retrospective wage increases, which caused undue embarrassment to manufacturers, who were held by fixed prices, ahd to many others who had no means of recovering the additional wages. They Would oppose any application to the Court for retrospective payment, he said.
