PARLIAMENTARY DAY
(New Zealand. Presi Association) WELLINGTON, September 17. Six speakers took part in the Budget debate in the House of Representatives today, bringing the total number of members who have spoken in the debate to 42. The only Minister to speak today was Mr K. J. Holyoake, Minister of Agriculture, who devoted most of his hour’s speech to discussion of the producer control of primary produce marketing. Among four local bills given a third reading and passed today was the Kaikoura River Board Validating Bill.
The House adjourned at 10.30 p.m. until 9.30 a.m. tomorrow, when the Budget debate will be continued.
