N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. Otago was still unbeaten at the end of the third day’s play in the New Zealand men’s indoor basketball championships tO The promoted Rotorua side, which caused a sensation by its win over Canterbury on the first day of the tournament, today beat Hamilton, 40-26. Today’s results were:— First Division.—Wellington 77, Wanganui 40; Nelson 59, Rotorua 43; Otago 34, Hamilton 26; Canterbury 51, Wanganui 36; Rotorua 40, Hamilton 26; Otago 53, Palmerston North 41; Wellington 48, Canterbury 37. Second Division A.—Southland 51, Hutt Valley 38; Wellington B 58, Marlborough 32; Gisborne 4s, Horowhenua 24; Marlborough 32, Hawke’s Bay A 22. Second Division B.—Auckland 42, Dunedin Mercantile 22; South Canterbury 40, Hawke's Bay B 26; Wairarapa 42, Wellington Mercantile 32; Hawera 51, South Canterbury 36.
