WOMAN DIES OF MISADVENTURE
CORONER’S VERDICT at Inquest
A verdict that Myrtle Agnes Emma Savage, aged 53. a married woman, died on August 14 from misadventure was returned by the Coroner (Mr E. B. E. Taylor) yesterday when the inquest into the death of Mrs Savage was concluded.
The Coroner found that the cause of death was heart failure associated with enlargement of the heart and shock due to extensive burns, the injuries obviously being received when she was sitting in front of her coal range and some of the fire fell out and set her clothing alight. Death After Operation Emily Clare Fraser, aged 81, was found to have died on July 14 from heart failure associated with hypertension. .
„ Dr v, Peter said he examined Mrs Fraser before an operation for a fractured femur and considered her a poor risk for an anaesthetic. Mr Blunden, the surgeon and he decided that if nothing was done she would be bedridden for the rest of her life, so it was decided to do the operation in spite of the risks involved. Deaths by Suicide James Albert Daniels, aged 37. of the R.N.Z.A.F., was found to have committed suicide, the cause of death being carbon monoxide poisoning. A verdict was returned that Thomas Coyle, aged 48. committed suicide on August 16 bv hanging himself. Sergeant R. M. Schwass conducted proceedings for the police in each case.
