Sir,—Everyone familiar with the sparrow’s fall being know in heaven may yet not know Francis Thompsons’ lines: All things by immortal power Near or far, Hiddenly To each other linked are, That thou can’st not stir a flower Without troubling of a star. May they cheer trose who rejected the torment and disfigurement of creatures kept for beauty, use or entertainment. Methods of identification of cattle adopted in other lands, I understand, include nostril prints similar to thumb printing. Might these not be investigated?^—Yours, etc.. WAYS AND REASONS.
