RANGIORA COUNTY ROADS

SUBSIDY FOR FLOOD RESTORATION WORK

Advice that a subsidy of £1 for £2 up to £l5OO was available for restoration work on roads damaged by the floods in last January, was received from the Ministry of Works by the Rangiora Council Council at its monthly meeting. The clerk (Mr S. G. Dailey) reported that he had put in a claim to cover the cost of the work carried out by the council. It was decided to advise the North Canterbury Catchment Board that the council would accept no responsibility for cleaning a stretch of five miles of the Cam river. Mr H. G. Guy and the clerk were appointed trustees of the Fernside War Memorial Fund.
