MR EISENHOWER’S ENVOY

(Rec. 11 p.m.) TOKYO, June 24. Mr Walter Robertson, personal representative of President Eisenhower, arrived in Tokyo today on his way to see Dr. Rhee in Seoul. He said he was hopeful that he would be able to remove “all misunderstandings and differences which stand in the way of peace.”

Mr Robertson, who is Assistant-Sec-retary of State, is carrying a special message from the United States Government to Dr. Rhee. He is accompanied by General J. Lawton Collins, the United States Army Chief of Staff.
