K FORCE MEMBER OF GUARD OF HONOUR

(N.Z. Army Information Service) KOREA, June 23. A tall Maori from Whangarei is representing New Zealand in a special guard of honour formed by the Sth Army for special occasions in Seoul. He is Driver Ben Api, of No. 10 Transport Company, R.N.Z.A.S.C. Driver Api is now living and working alongside troops from the United States, Turkey, the Phillipines, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Thailand and the other countries fighting with the United Nations in Korea. Already the guard has turned out at welcomes to visiting dignitaries and has been reviewed by LieutenantGeneral Maxwell Taylor, commander of the Sth Army and various corps commanders of the Army. “We are a miniature United Nations,” Driver Api said, proud of his position •as New Zealand’s representative.
