ADDINGTON MARKET
ERRATIC SALE FOR BACONERS The porker entry at the Addington market on Wednesday was again a fairly large one, and included three trucks and a half from outside districts. The sale was again a dragging one, values showing very little change from the large yarding two weeks ago. Choppers were in medium supply, and the sale was an excellent one with values £1 to 30s in advance of last. sale. In the bacon section there was a medium yarding, and although the sale was a good one, it was inclined to be erratic, excepting in the case of very best quality. Values were: Light porkers, £4 9s 6d to £5 9s 6d. Medium porkers, £5 19s 6d to £6 14s 6d. Heavy porkers, £6 19s 6d to £7 19s 6d. Average price per lb, 17Jd to 19d. Choppers, £9 18s 6d to £l7 18s 6d. STORE PIGS The entry in the store pig section was smaller and consisted mainly of medium stores and slips. Few weaners came forward. The attendance of buyers was smaller, and values for medium and large stores were easier by 5s to 10s a head, but weaners met a keen sale with values 5s .to 6s a head better. Included in the entry were five advertised sows in pig, which made from £24 10s to £32 10s. Values were:— Small weaners, 35s to 455. Best weaners, 50s to 565. Slips, 54s to 60s. Small stores, 61s to 70s. Medium stores, 72s to 82s. Large stores, 85s to 100 s.
OXFORD FAT LAMB SALE The yarding at the Oxford fortnightly fat lamb sale, the second to last of the season,- was approximately 2200. » The yarding comprised mainly light-weights, a typical end-of-season lot, with odd pens of good quality lambs throughout the sale. Prices were easier than at the previous sale, but a total clearance was made. The sales included:—
