GEELONG WOOL SALE

(Rec. 1130 p.m.) , MELBOURNE, May 27. Rates at the Geelong wool sales today were fully firm on yesterday’s values. There was a 96 per cent clearance of the 10,500 bales offered. Seventy per cent, of the offering was crossbreds, mainly good style comebacks and fine crossbreds frbm southwest Victoria and south-east South Australia with a big weight of new season’s crutchings. Competition was keen, the chief buyers being the Continent, including Russia, the United Kingdom, and local mills.

Comeback super 64’s realised 148 d, comeback super 60/64’s 142 d, comeback super 60’s 134 d, crossbred fine, up to 104 d, medium to 90d and coarse 68d.
