KHARTOUM. May 13. The Governor-General of the Sudan (Sir Robert Howe) announced today that the breakdown of thfi negotiations over the Suez Canal base will not affect the British and Egyptian agreement df February 11 The Sudan Government would continue to carry out ’that agreement fully, and would adhere strictly to the arrangements made by the electoral commission for holding Parliamentary elections in the Sudan. The agreement gave the Sudanese, first self-government, and then, in not more than three yean, freedom to decide their own future status—full independence or a constitutional link with Egypt
