BOARD OF MAORI AFFAIRS

TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 14. Mr Mason Durie. of Aorangi. Feilding, and Mr Pateriki Hura. of Taumarunui. have been appointed to the Board of Maori Affairs. The board, which meets regularly in Wellington, is charged with the financial responsibilities of the Department of Maori Affairs concerning farming, housing, and other questions. Mr Durie is a chief of the NgatiRaukawa tribe. He is an experienced farmer. Mr Hura is a chief of the Ngati-Tuwharetoa tribe of Taupo. He has had extensive business experience in the King Country, both in farming and timber milling.
