NO PRODUCTION YET BY GOLDWYN STUDIOS Until three-dimensional films were standardised, the Samuel Goldwyn organisation did not propose to make films of that type, said Mr J. Joel, representative of Samuel Goldwyn Productions, in Christchurch yesterday. Mr Joel is completing a survey of New Zealand for three-dimensional films coincidental with the release of the standard Technicolor film, “Hans Christian Andersen," on May 29. “Mr Goldwyn considers that, while he can produce successful entertainment in the standard films such as Hans Christian Andersen,’ he cannot see that the addition of novelty value alone will make any difference," said "* r “Nevertheless, because of three-dimensional films, the motion picture industry in the United States is recovering popularity lost to television.
Mr Joel said it was understood that Danny Kaye, star of “Hans Christian Andersen,’ would visit New Zealand next year. Kaye had received a personal invitation to the Coronation from Princess Margaret. '
