PRIME MINISTER OF MALTA

REFUSAL TO ATTEND CORONATION (NX Press Association— -Copirnght) VAT.WTTA, May 11. Mr George Borg Olivier, the Maltese Prime Minister, disclosed tonight that he will stay in Malta during the Coronation because he was not offered a position equal to that of the Prime Ministers of Northern Ireland and Southern Rhodesia during the ceremonies. The Maltese Parliament has decided that the Government should not celebrate the Coronation. Mr Olivier said he felt that Malta was entitled to a position similar to that given Northern Ireland and Southern Rhodesia at the London Coronation celebrations. He also disagreed with the decision by the British Colonial Office to'fly the blue ensign alongside the traditional red and white Maltese flag during the Coronation celebrations on the island. He said that only the Maltese flag should be flown.
