Russian Buying At Melbourne (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) MELBOURNE. May 12. A feature of the Melbourne wool sale today vfras keen buying for Russia of Merino and comeback wool, with the support of Britain, the Continent, local mills, and Japan. There was a full clearance of the 10,700 bales offered. General values showed a fuU 2J per eent. rise on yesterday's improved rates. Among the top prices were: Merino, extra super, 64’s, four bales, 151 Jd; crossbreds, super, 60/64’s, fight bales. 148 d; good to super. 80/64’s, four bales 1374 d, six bales 134ja. At Sydney
At Sydney Competition was keen from Britain, the Continent, and Japan at the Sydney sale today. Of the 13,872 bales offered. 13,693 were sold. Merino descriptions carrying light vegetable < fault, and comebacks and crossbreds were fully firm at yesterday’s levels. Among the top prices were: Merino, good, 64/70’s, nine bales, 138jd; crossbreds, good, 58/60’s. 14 bales, 124jd; good, 60’s, five bales, 124 d: good. 56's, 34 bales. Mid.
