DALLINGTON BRIDGE

Sir, —“Disappointed” wants to know why the Dallington bridge could not be rebuilt, like the Styx bridge, in longitudinal sections, so that traffic need not be interrupted. Might I point out that this is a-very expensive expedient, justified only where there is no alternative bridge within a reasonable distance? It is certainly not a method to be used from choice.— Yours, etc., BUILDER. May 9, 1953.
