OBITUARY
MR ARTHUR WATT (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 10. The death occurred in Dunedin on Friday of Mr Arthur Watt, a former master and pupil of the Otago Boys’ High School. He was 68. Mr Watt was a son of the Rev. Michael Watt. He received his early education at the Green Island and Arthur Street Schools. He then attended the Otago Boys’ High School, and in 1904 entered the University of Otago on a junior scholarship. Later, Mr Watt won a senior scholarship in French. After graduating master of arts with first-class honours, Mr Watt taught at the Auckland Grammar School and the Christchurch Boys’ High School until 1912, before returning to the Otago Boys’ High School as senior French master. He held this position until 1946, when he retired because of ill health.
Mr Watt is survived by four brothers. Mr Malcolm Watt (Dunedin), Dr. M. H. Watt, and Mr D. Watt (Wellington), and Mr W. S. Watt (Melbourne), and two sisters. Misses C. and V, Watt (Dunedin).
