MOTHER’S DAY ART UNION

Sir, —We learn that the profits from the Mother’s Day art union are to be given to “orphanages and benevolent institutions”; at least, so some billboards (though not all) state; and so it is stated on the back of every ticket sold. We wish to assure our supporters that the boards of the orphanages and children’s homes which we represent will not accept any money raised through this means.—Yours, etc., J. S. STRANG, Chairman of the Presbyterian Social Service Association in Christchurch. G. M. MORGAN, director of the C.F.E. Social Service Association in Christchurch. W. T. BLIGHT, chairman of the • South Island Methodist Children’s Home.. May 8, 1953.
