GRADING OF DENTAL NURSES

AMENDMENT TO ORDER REFUSED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 8. The Government Service Tribunal has rejected an application to have the date of the commencement of the merit grade for dental nurses put back to April 1, 1951. The chairman (Mr H. J. Thompson, S.M.) and Messrs B. L. Dallard and L. A. Atkinson found that there had not been a defect in the order that would warrant amendment, and that the application was “not aimed at remedying a defect, but at having the matter reheard.”

In a dissenting opinion, Mr J. W. G. Davidson, employees’ member, and Miss K. E. Rowden, employees’ assessor, claim that about 50 dental nurses have been penalised ■ through delays and. errors by the tribunal.
