SALE OF PROPERTY BY TRUSTEES APPROVED Approval of the sale of a property at 163 High street, Christchurch, foi* £3OOO by the trustees of the estate of Alice Jane Lord, a widow, was given by Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court yesterday. Dr. A. L. Haslam, for the trustees, said that the property consisted of a shop with a flat above it. The approval of the Court was necessary because there were infant beneficiaries under the will of Mrs Lord. It was considered that the sale was in the interests of the estate.

Mr E. C. Champion, for the beneficiaries, consented to the application being approved. He said he was satisfied the proposed sale was desirable. "I give the approval of the Court to the transaction,” said his Honour.

LEAVE TO APPEAL REFUSED An application by Mason, Struthers, and Company, Ltd. (Mr R. W. Edgley), for leave to appeal to the Court of Appeal against a decision of the Supreme Court was refused by Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court yesterday. t A- Gough appeared for Robert William Ling, an accountant, to oppose the application. In the Magistrate’s Court, Mason. Struthers, and Company, Ltd., claimed £165 13s from Ling, alleging that Ling had guaranteed a debt owed to Mason, Struthers by a builder, Robert John Pomeroy, who filed in bankruptcy in 1949. Mr E. A. Lee. S.M., gave his decision in faVour of the plaintiff company. Ling appealed to the Supreme Court against this decision, and on March 11 Mr Justice Northcroft allowed the appeal. Yesterday. Mr Edgley, for Mason, Struthers, and Company, Ltd., sought, leave to appeal to the Court of Appeal against his Honour’s decision, and leave was refused.
