WORKERS ON TASMAN PAPER CONTRACT
“SATISFACTORY INITIAL WAGE AGREEMENT” (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 9. “The hundreds of workers who will erect the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company’s plant at Onepu, near Te Teko, have a satisfactory initial wage agreement, and the promise of first-grade hotel meals and high-standard amenities,” said the secretary of the Auckland General Labourers’ Union (Mr T. G. Potter) today. '* Mr Potter visited Onepu yesterday to help to draw up a wage agreement for labourers and carpenters. Mr Potter said today that detaPs of his discussions could not be disclosed until the agreement had been signed by the parties, probably next week.
