CANTEEN BOARD’S FUNDS

INCREASE OF £71,725 (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 8. More than £70.000 will soon be added to the Canteen Fund Board’s finances. The Associate Minister of Finance (Mr C. M. Bowden) said today that the Australian Army Department had remitted to New Zealand £N.Z.71,725 8s Bd, this country’s share of the distribution of the realised profits of the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces’ canteens service in Japan. Among the objects of the Canteen Funds Board, the Minister explained were the provision of assistance and relief to discharged servicemen or their , dependants.
