MEN REMANDED ON THEFT CHARGE

SEQUEL TO LOSS FROM MINISTER’S HOME (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 8. Charged with breaking and entering the Herne Bay home of the Minister in charge of Police (Mr W. H. Fortune), two men appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today, and were remanded by Mr F. McCarthy, S.M., to appear on April 13. The men are Dardanelles Paranahi, aged 37, a labourer,' and George •Aritahi Duncan, aged 32, a labourer. The police allege that the men stole three suits, a camera, badges, and jewellery, of a total value of £207 16s lid from the house, which was broken into on Sunday, March 29. Paranahi and Duncan were arrested in Wanganui on April 1, and were remanded to appear in Auckland.
