TOUR BY CLARK SCHOLES BAN ON AMATEUR RACING OUTSIDE U.S. (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, March 24. Clarke Scholes, of Michigan, the Olympic sprint swimming champion, will be prohibited after tomorrow from taking part in amateur, swimming events out,side the United States. Scholes said today that he had no comment to make on the ban imposed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, which wanted him to compete in the American championships on April 2. Scholes will swim in Invercargill tonight. He had been disappointed when he had heard of the ban, said Scholes. He was anxious to fulfil the arrangements made by the Eastern Suburbs Swimming Club, of Auckland, for his New Zealand tour.
