“BECOMING CENTRE OF INTRIGUE” TEHERAN. March 10. Persia has sent a Note to neighbouring Iraq accusing her of becoming a centre of intrigue against Persia by the British since the diplomatic break with Britain. The Foreign Minister (Dr. Hussein Fatemi) told reporters today the Note said that Mr Jackson, a former British Consul in Teheran.' had opened his headquarters in Bagdad, and had been dealing with British agents inside Persia from there. The Note said that recent events in Persia were a consequence of his activities. It requested the Iraq Government to pay special heed and take necessary steps “to put an end to this state of affairs.” Mr Jackson was a British spy parading in the guise of a diplomat, said the Note. In London today a Foreign Office spokesman said that a Major R. Jackson, a business man, had worked bn the staff of the commercial secretariat in the British Embassy in Teheran between 1945 and 1952. He had left the Embassy staff in the summer of 1952. before the breach with. Persia.
