Rainbow Trout Rearing.—The policy of rearing rainbow fish to the fingerling stage in ponds naturally fed to stock Lakes Grasmere, Pearson, and Georgina, in the first instance, using experience gained in Lake Georgina as a guide, was affirmed by the council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society last evening. The council also decided, on the recommendation of the fish committee, to place an order for 300.000 rainbow’ ova, through the Ashburton Acclima- ' tisation Society. The ova are to be i hatched by the Ashburton Society and 1 the fry delivered next October and • November.
