DRAINAGE BOARD LOANS
£210,200 SUBSCRIBED A total of £210,200 had so far been subscribed to the Christchurch Drainage Board’s loan flotation, said the finance committee in a * report to a meeting of the board last evening. This total comprised £170,000 in the first sewerage loan and £40,200 in the New Brighton sewerage loan. Christchurch investors had responded well to the needs of the board and the community, the report said. There had been 254 applications for the total of £210,200. A total of 187 applications had come from Christchurch, 32 from the rest of Canterbury, and .14 from Wellington. Seven applications had been received from the West Coast; and nine other areas from Dunedin to Auckland were each represented by single applications.
