WRAPPING OF BREAD
Sir, —Can anyone imagine the grocer pushing a pound of cheese across the counter unwrapped? Absurd! Then why do we have to take our bread that way? I have seen a woman in a shop scratch her head vigorously, then go straight to the bread shelves and serve it to customers. The grocer does not charge to wrap or bag his goods, so why should the baker want to charge for a small bit of paper for a loaf?—Yours, etc., WRAP UP. Belfast. February 15, 1953.
