APPOINTMENTS IN R.N.Z.A.F.
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 16. The Air Board announces the following recent appointments in the Royal New Zealand Air Force:— Squadron Leader E. J. Shaw. D.F.C., Officer Commanding the Administrative Wing, Lauthala Bay, Fiji, has been appointed Camp Commandant at R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters Unit, Shelly Bay, Wellington. He succeeds Squadron Leader M. Kidson, D.F.C., A.F.M., who has been appointed Officer Commanding the Central Reserve Wing, Wellington. The Rev. H. E. Whitten, of Mount Albert, Auckland, has been commissioned in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in the rank of flight lieutenant, and has been appointed chaplain at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station. Whenuapai. Two Royal New Zealand Air Force pilots, Flying Officer D. Cumming and Flying Officer D. B. Pollard, who have been serving with No. 24 (Commonwealth) Squadron of the Royal Air Force for the last 14 months, have returned to New Zealand. They will be posted to No. 41 (Transport) Squadron.
