BRITISH AWARDS IN KOREA

(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, January 21. The War Office announces that a wounded lieutenant who fought an ammunition blaze that threatened to explode 109 mortar bombs in Korea has been awarded the George Medal. He is Lieutenant Beveley Anthony Foster Martin, of the Royal Artillery. The George Medal has also been awarded to Corporal Colin Leyshon Lowes, of the Royal Army Medical Corps, who entered a Korean minefield to save the life of a badlywounded soldier.
