"FLYING SAUCERS”

Sir,—l always thought Christchurch people could take a joke; it seems not so. All Parliamentary candidates will tell us over the air “Vote for me and I’ll see all pensioners are well treated,” but where are we?—worse off in the cost of living. But when an announcer puts over a joke, what do people do? Rise up and cause trouble. The main thing is that both announcers made a mistake in the date, which should have been April 1, as we were made fools of by both of them. But experience teaches.—Yours, etc. 3ZB FAN. October 22. 1952.
