N.Z. BAND’S TOUR OF BRITAIN
BUS LENT FOR TRAVEL (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 22. The New Zealand brass band which will tour Britain next year has had placed at its disposal free of cost a new 38-seater bus specially built for the famous Foden’s Motor Works Band of England. This will reduce the expenses of the tour by about £l4OO. The offer was made by Mr William Foden through his New Zealand representative. , , , . “We are naturally overwhelmed by this generous example of hospitality and comradeship from a man who has played so great a part in the brass band movement in Britain, ’ said Mr H. B. Riggs, president of the New Zealand Brass Bands’ Association, today. “Foden’s band will use other means of transport not as convenient for its engagements in England during the season that our band will be there,’ added Mr Riggs. „ „ , The bus will meet the New Zealand bandsmen at, the ship’s side and carry them everywhere until they are delivered back at the ship’s side for their return three months
