TEAMS TO PLAY ON LABOUR DAY

The following have been chosen by the Canterbury selectors (Messrs W. J. Hamilton, F. P. O’Brien, 'and F. Dennis) to play in matches on Labour Day:— v. North Canterbury, at Hagley: F, F. Dawson (captain-manager), D. Cederwell, J. G. Leggat, D. J. Reid, M. E. Chapple, G. E. Royfee (wicket-keeper), K. J. McNichol, N. Bennett, D. Adcock, J. Harliwich, and P. Phillips. Play commences at 103 a.m. and players must bring material from clubs. Luncheon is being provided. —Advt. v. Malvern, at Greendale: R. W. G. Emery (captain-manager), C. Carston, G. Gearry, D. O’Malley, B. Haworth (wicketkeeper), S. M. Betty, J. Harris. J. Eathorne, M. B. Poore, D. Stark, G. D. Gardiner.

Bus leaves Midland depot at 9 a.m. Players must bring material from clubs and must take own lunches. Sharplyspiked boots should not be worn. —Advt. The following players have been selected by the Brabin Shield selectors (Messrs I. A. Baxter, W. E. Mappiebeck, and W. O. Mappiebeck) to play Ellesmere on Labour Day, at Lincoln College:— W. Muncaster (captain), J. Ackland (Riccarton)! C. Currie, J. Dobbs (Marist), N. Marsh (Lancaster Park), J. W. Darcy (8.H.5.), S. Salt (Sydenham), G. G. Morison (Old Collegians), T. D. Gibson (Christ’s College), M. S. Williams (West Old Boys), R. Cropp (Old Boys), L. GlanVille (East Christchurch).

Players are requested to take their own lunch and bring the material from their clubs. Bus leaves Midland depot, Lichfield street, at 9.45 a.m. —Advt.
