SLIGHT INCREASE IN STORAGE Although ribrth-west winds were blowing in the South Island power system’s catchment areas yesterday tne weather was fine, and a rise of only 10,000 units in storage was reported yesterday morning, compared with the figure 24 hours previously. At 9 a.m. yesterday storage totalled 37,730.000 units. Changes in lake levels were small on Tuesday. There were slight increases at Coleridge and Waipori. and slight decreases at Tekapo and Pukaki. On Tuesday consumption of power in the M.E.D. area was 4.2 per cent, above allocation, making the figure for the first two days of the week 4.9 per cent, in excess of allocation. The electricity committee of the City Council will not meet this week, and it is expected that power cuts during the week-end will be as they were last week-end.
