The Christchurch City Council will make further representations to the Transport Department to have power cycles classified as motor-cycles in all respects. This decision was made last evening after advice was received from the Commissioner of Transport that riders of power cycles- need not be tested for a licence if they were licensed for some other class of motorvehicle, that power cycles did not require a warrant of fitness though they must complv with the general regulations about brakes and lights, end that [if no tail light was fitted the motor must be made immobile (for instance by removing the spark plug) when [the power cycle was used at night
