THEFTS OF SHEEP REPORTED

POLICE INQUIRIES IN WAIRARAPA (New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, October 6. Thefts of sheep have been reported to the police by farmers in the Wairarapa recently. In the Featherston district three farmers have lost stock. One farmer, about five miles from Featherston, reports the loss of 125 sheep, another has lost 20 ewes from a property on the borough boundary, and a third has reported the theft of 109 ewes from a farm about four miles from the borough. The sheep stolen are breeding ewes, and the police say that the thefts probably took place before lambing.
