FIGHT BETWEEN MIGRANTS

SEQUEL TO POLITICAL ARGUMENT {New Zealand Press Association) ROTORUA, October 6. Two Jugoslavs came to blows in the lounge of a Rotorua hotel on Saturday afternoon because of a political discussion between a Stalin Communist and a Tito Communist. They were Bogasav Bozinovitch, aged 29, a former employee of the Waipa State mill, and Louibischp Bogiat, aged 29, at present employed there. Both pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court today to a charge of fighting in a public place, and Bozinovitch admitted assaulting Bogiat. Each was fined £5, and Bozinovitch was also fined £5, in default seven days’ imprisonment, for assault. Senior-Sergeant P. O. Alsop said that a heated argument had developed in the street at 7.30 p.m. on Friday. Because there were too many people about, they walked down Hinemoa street and Bogiat alleged that he was struck under the jaw with what he though was a piece of steel. He fell to the ground and later was assisted by a passer-by. When Bogiat called at the police station, he was bleeding from a deep cut, but he told the police he would take his own action. On the following afternoon, said Senior-Sergeant Alsop, Bogiat saw his compatriot sitting in a hotel lounge and allegedly threw a bottle at him. They exchanged several blows. Most of the guests fled. Bogiat later admitted to a constable that he had thrown a bottle. Senior-Sergeant Alsop said that he feared further trouble when the two men were released.
