ROAD TRANSPORT ALLIANCE

ELECTION OF OFFICERS (New Zealand Press Association) __ w WANGANUI, October 6. Mr W. D. Thompson (Morrinsville) was elected today to the presidency of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance for 1952-53. He will succeed Mr F. G. Sheed (Timaru), who did not seek re-election. The following council was elected:— Messrs C. J. Wilkie (Hawke's Bay), (Gore) ’ A. A. Heenan (Southland), P. J. Smith (Wanganui), J. A. Anderson (Pukekohe), W. Newcombe (Gisborne), W. L. Sirl (Whangarei), W. A. Habgood (Ellesmere), F. G. Sheed (Timaru), R. J. M. Gairdner (Putaruru), D. D. Merritt (Nelson), J. W. Greenhill (West Coast), W. O. Tilsley (Morrinsville), J. B. Cullen (Ashburton), and J. ‘Hogan (Taranaki).
