The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) announced last evening that the Rev. J. p. Frond h?s been appointed viear of Ashburton. He will succeed the Rev. J. Evans. Mr Froud ho? been vicar of New Brighton Since 1949. From 1942 to 1945 he was a chaplain to the forces and from 1946 to 1949 he was vicar of sington-Otipua-Dr. F. S. Maclean, the Director of the Division of Public Hygiene in the Health Department, has returned to Wellington after representing New Zealand at a regional meeting of the World Health Oi'ganisatfen in Saigon. —(P-A.)
Mr Colin W. Morrispn, secretary of fee New Zealand Council for the Organisation of Relief Services Overseas, left Wellington by flyingfeoat on Friday on a mission to Ceylon, Pakistan and India to examine their needs and fee ways in which CQRSO may help . them. Mr Morrison will return to New Zealand in December. —(P.A.)
