UNFAAN TO RUN IN MAJOR EVENTS
PLEASING FOURTH PLACE AT RANDWICK (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 6. The New Zealand horse, Unfaan, will run in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. His owner, Mr H. T. Head, announced this after Unfaan ran a good fourth in the Squatters’ Handicap at Randwick yesterday. Head said he was very pleased with Unfaan’s run. He added; “Although Unfaan has been in Australia over three months, he is not properly wound up yet.” In yesterday’s race Unfaan raced near the rear of the field until passing the half-mile. He was a poor eleventh turning into the straight, but moved up sharply at the furlong and looked to have a good chance of winning. However, over the last half-furlong he did not finish as strongly as the place-getters.
