CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The Christchurch Cycling Club’s 50-mile senior and junior championship events were held on Saturday afternoon. Results:— Senior: G. Hill, 2hr 20min 35sec, 1; R. D. Campbell 2, R. Combe 3. PAPANUI CLUB Competitors had to contend with a cold south-westerly wind when the Papanui Amateur Cycling Club held a 50-mile club race at Harewood on Saturday. Results: G. R. Marks (2min), 2hr 7min 58sec, 1; R. Ward (2min), 2hr 12min 14sec, 2; R. Cattermole (2min), 2hr 15min, 3. Fastest time: G. R. Marks 1, R. Ward 2. MAIREHAU WHEELMEN B. Brettell, off scratch, won the Mairehau Novice Wheelmen's combined junior and senior five-mile time trial on Saturday. Conditions were poor. Results: B. Brettell (scr). 14min 53sec, 1; D. AVON CLUB The annual 50-mile round-the-bays race was held on Saturday by the Avon Amateur Cyc’ing Club. Slips and sunken parts on the roads made riding very difficult. Twenty-five riders competed. K.
