UNION PROTESTS AT T.U.C. POLICY LONDON, May 38. Britain’s Cbifimuhlst-ted Electrical Trades Union to-day protested agpinst trade ufiion co-ooeratioh with the Government and called but 40,000 members on strike. A resolution passed at the 200.000strong union’s annual conference at EastbbUtne challenged the statement. by the Trade Union Congress that Labour had to work loyally with Whatever Government was in Power. The Ufiiph secretary (Mr Walter Stevens) later anhoUnced that the strike of 3000 London electricians would be Oyten ted to 49.000 members in the provinces. The strike began when some workers were declared redundant. Delegates at the conference passed resolutions condemning the rearmament programme ahd calling for the withdrawn Of tfdops from Malaya, Egypt and Korea.
