ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE
Sir,—“The soul that sinneth,” etc., rebels at the doctrine of reincarnation. I must reply that I would certainly place Plato, Masefield and that Cosmic drama, the Bible, before R. L. Stevenson on this subject. The latter was a very ill man and in consequence his perceptions and conceptions would be faulty. “Silver Nib” rebels, as usual, at the doctrine of evolution. It is evident that Man has fallen from a high estate and is slowly and painfully finding his way back. .Regarding the three - minds of Man. the conscious takes cognisance of the objective world through the medium of the five senses, and acts in the capacity of suggester and conscious thinker. The sub-conscious mind is the builder and rebuilder of the body, works through the solar (soular) plexus and has charge of the automatic functions, while the super-con-scious mind is that in which we live and move,” etc.—Yours, etc., M. G. DAVIES. May 12, 1952.
