QUEEN RECEIVES AMBASSADORS

PRESENTATION OF CREDENTIALS (Rec. 7 p m.) LONDON, May 9. Ambassadors and other diplomats of 48 nations personally accredited to the British Court at the death of King George VI to-day presented their new letters of credence to Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. Thev did not include the diplomats appointed to London since the Queen’s accession, as these had already presented their credentials to her individually. The Queen, hatless and dressed in mourning black, and accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, Stood m the gilt State Room on the ground floor overlooking the spacious palace lawns to receive 30 ambassadors and 18 Ministers.
