EGYPT’S ROCKET RESEACH

Charge By German Scientist LONDON, May 4. A German rocket scientist. Dr. Kurt Fuellner. who disappeared a month ago from a laboratory in Egypt, is now back in Western Germany, where he is preparing to take his knowledge “somewhere else.” A correspondent of the “Daily Express.” who savs that he interviewed the German 300 yards from the Soviet Zone border, reported that Dr. Fuellner alleged that he and other German scientists had been subject to threats of death and blackmail. “The Egyptians stole all- our plans. That is why they say they could build rockets now if they had the resources,” said Dr. Fuellner. He did not believe that the Egyptians, alone, could master the techniques of these weapons. Dr. Fuellner. who is suing the Egyptian Government for £3OOO, wnich he alleges is owing to him. showed the correspondent pictures of rockets up to five feet long which, he said, were designed to have ranges of up to 20 miles. He said that 12 Germans worked in a secret laboratory provided by King Farouk’s War Ministry in an Egyptian car engineering company’s workshops on the outskirts of Cairo. The rockets were exploded from secret launching sites in the Western Desert.
